If you’re a mom, you probably find yourself constantly doing things for other people. But here’s the thing: The busier you are, the more important self-care becomes. So this Mother’s Day, we want to remind you to make time for yourself and to make your own physical and mental health a priority. You deserve to feel your best today and always.
Here are 7 ways to get started:
1. Energize your body
Roll out your yoga mat, sign up for your favorite group exercise class (bring a friend to keep you accountable!) run, swim, or engage in any kind of physical activity you enjoy. Your body will thank you.
Begin or end your day with a minute of deep breathing and focused awareness of your body, thoughts, and feelings. Make time to clear your head and nurture your soul.
3.Spend some time in nature
Go for a walk in your neighborhood, enjoy lunch in a park, or spend time near the water. Connecting with nature will leave you inspired and refreshed.
4.Treat yourself to an at-home spa-day
Light some candles and draw yourself a bath, or, if you want to indulge guilt-free, take a Nebia Shower. Let the rest of the world disappear as the water flows over your body, flooding your brain with the feel-good chemical dopamine and stimulating your creative instincts.
Channel your inner Marie Kondo and choose one place to declutter. Your email inbox, desk, closet, shower (we have a solution for that), or that pesky junk drawer in your house are all great places to start. Decluttering is therapeutic and afterwards you’ll feel as though a weight has lifted.
6.Enjoy a piece of chocolate or a glass of wine
Better yet, enjoy both together in the company of great friends.
Never underestimate the power of some quality Zzz’s. Take a well-deserved nap, go to bed earlier, and be kind to your body when it needs to rest.
This Mother’s Day, spread the love by sharing this with the other mothers in your life. Remind one another to stop compromising your own well-being and to start making “me-time” a priority. You’re worth it.
From all of us at Nebia, Happy Mother’s Day!
