Bathroom Trends 2022

Bathroom Trends 2022

The New Year is the perfect time to refresh your space, and the bathroom should not be overlooked! At Nebia, we firmly believe that the bathroom is one of the most important rooms in a home. It can serve as a space to retreat from the stress of the world and relax or as a space to re-energize and refocus as you prepare for the day.

Not ready for a full renovation? Weaving in stylish accents, switching outdated fixtures, and/or incorporating some green can be a great way to elevate your space with minimal effort.

To get you inspired, we’re sharing the top bathroom trends of 2022. From matte black fixtures to white marble, here's what the interior design pros say will be on-trend in 2022...

1. Matte Black Fixtures

Matte black fixtures have been having a moment for a few years now and this hot trend will continue through 2022. Switching to a matte black shower with a matching temperature trim and faucets will instantly give your bathroom a bold, sleek and sophisticated vibe.

We love how matte black fixtures pop against a warm neutral interior.

2. White Marble

Incorporating white marble gives your bathroom a refined, classic look that will stand the test of time. Using marble with contrasting materials and colors also helps to build depth in your bathroom visually and textually.

Considering using gold fixtures in an all-white marble bathroom for an uber-luxe look.

Dark floor tiles with a white marble shower and sleek chrome showerhead add texture and depth to your space.

3. Bringing in Nature

We’ve been incorporating plants and other natural elements into our bathrooms for years and we’re thrilled to see that this trend is catching on. Not only do plants create a spa-like feel but they also naturally purify your air. Plus, recent studies have shown that there are measurable health benefits derived from interior designs that incorporate natural elements.

Henry Prideaux of Henry Prideaux Interior Design explains, "More time spent at home since the beginning of the pandemic has meant there is a need to feel connected with nature as a way to reduce stress and anxiety, so being able to retreat into a relaxing space that has been beautifully dressed with plants, can allow you to feel nurtured."

Plants add a sense of serenity to your bathroom and we love that pop of green!

We teamed up with plant expert Kevin Espiritu to give you his best tips for making over your bathroom with house plants. Watch it here. Fun fact: Many tropical plants such as Monstera deliciosas can go directly in your shower, they love Nebia's misty spray!

Plants + a pop of color = a perfect combo!

4. Spa Aesthetic

Creating sacred spaces in your home allows you to unwind and relax and bringing the spa into your bathroom is a great place to start. To achieve this, incorporate whites and light neutral colors, treat yourself to a spa shower, and reduce clutter as much as possible. Then light a candle, play a soothing playlist, and voila!

A spa-aesthetic can be achieved with warm tones, beautiful lighting and a clutter free space. Soak up the sunlight in your at home sanctuary and allow yourself to unwind under a soothing shower

You can’t go wrong with all-white, natural lighting, and a bathtub to give you a beautiful spa-like aesthetic.

5. Mixing old and new

This new trend pays homage to more traditional elements while incorporating modern designs. Try a classic bathtub with updated fixtures, or an antique faucet with a modern sink.

Combine antique furniture or retro tiles with modern fixtures to achieve a modern-vintage vibe.
